Russian businessman Farkhad Akhmedov has been removed from the UK sanctions list, as announced by the HMTreasury.
The entry for Akhmedov has been lifted from the Consolidated List, no longer subject to asset freeze or trust services sanctions.
No specific reason was provided for the removal of restrictions on Akhmedov, who was initially added to the UK blacklist on April 13, 2022.
The sanctions were imposed due to Akhmedov’s alleged support of the Russian government in strategic sectors like information, communications, and digital technology.
