Iran’s acting foreign minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, has accused Israel of posing a threat not only to Palestine but to the security of all Islamic nations.
Speaking at the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation meeting in Jeddah, he emphasized that the Israeli regime’s ambitions extend beyond its current conflicts, aiming to destabilize the broader Islamic world. Bagheri highlighted the regime’s history of committing terrorist acts in various Islamic and regional countries, asserting that Israel views terrorism as a strategic policy.
During the meeting, Bagheri expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its support following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, an act attributed to Israeli forces.
He underscored the growing global condemnation of Israeli crimes and stressed the need for Islamic countries to unite against such threats. Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar assured Iran of Pakistan’s continued support at the UN Security Council, condemning the assassination and vowing to back Iran in upcoming council meetings.
Bagheri also held talks with other regional leaders, including the foreign ministers of Algeria and Jordan, urging coordinated efforts to halt Israeli actions that endanger regional security.
The officials agreed on the importance of taking decisive action during the OIC meeting to pressure Israel into stopping its military aggression, particularly in Gaza, where ongoing violence has further destabilized the region. They emphasized that a cessation of the Gaza conflict is crucial for achieving peace and stability in West Asia.
