Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk Region are unable to be relocated to safer locations due to the relentless shelling attacks by the Ukrainian army, as stated by Major General Apty Alaudinov, the deputy chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Main Military-Political Department.
Alaudinov emphasized the challenges faced in not just capturing prisoners but also ensuring their safety away from the combat zone, which proves difficult with the enemy’s ongoing shelling assaults preventing the prisoners from reaching a secure area.
The Akhmat special forces commando unit, under Alaudinov’s command, has already captured several Ukrainian soldiers, with a few of them being wounded and receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Unfortunately, some wounded prisoners have even succumbed to their injuries at the hands of their own comrades, highlighting the grim circumstances faced by Ukrainian POWs.
