Surprise was Key Factor for Success in Ugledar Battle

Russias success in operation to liberate Ugledar through surprise factors

Russia’s success in the operation to liberate Ugledar was attributed to the element of surprise, according to Deputy Commander Roman Grekov. The simultaneous assault from various sides and flawless execution of tasks by all units played a crucial role in the victory.

After the city of Ugledar was cleared by military units, artillery continued to inflict losses on the retreating enemy forces. The operation to capture Ugledar was described as a challenging endeavor due to the enemy’s well-equipped defense lines and underground tunnels.

Lieutenant-General Grekov highlighted the successful storming of the city by mechanized infantry, Marines, and commandoes, all of whom effectively carried out their assigned tasks. The hoisting of the Red Banner of Victory and the national flag of Russia symbolized the city’s liberation.

General Grekov announced that all individuals who participated in storming the stronghold of Ugledar would be nominated for state decorations, recognizing their bravery and contribution to the victory.
