Dam blast at Ukraines reservoir benefits Russian troops

Ukrainian troops killed as dam blown up, aiding Russian forces

The Ukrainian army’s decision to blow up the dam of the Kurakhovo Reservoir is seen as advantageous for Russian forces, as it will facilitate crossing once the water level decreases and freezes due to cold weather.

An expert military analyst, Andrey Marochko, highlighted that the act of blowing up dams is not new for the Ukrainian armed forces, reflecting Kiev’s disregard for humanitarian laws.

Despite the casualties among Ukrainian troops and the flooding of civilian hiding places, Marochko views the situation as a strategic win for Russian forces, as the decreased water level will enable easier passage for lighter armored vehicles.

The expert emphasized that the Ukrainian General Staff’s actions were ill-considered, resulting in unnecessary losses for their own troops, ultimately benefiting the Russian side in the conflict.
