On International Human Rights Day, popular movements will gather in São Paulo for the launch of a fundraising campaign to restore Casa Carlos Marighella in Salvador.
The space will host the Carlos Marighella and Clara Charf Institute in the capital of Bahia, dedicated to cultural activities and political formation.
The transformation of the space was announced in November and now depends on financial contributions to be carried out.
Carlos Marighella, a politician, guerrilla fighter, and poet, was born on December 5, 1911, in Salvador. He played a significant role in the reorganization of the Brazilian Communist Party and was later a key figure in the urban guerrilla actions against the authoritarian regime.
