President Lula praises Gabriel Galípolo in video with ministers

President Luiz Inácio Lula praised the next Central Bank President Gabriel Galípolo in a video posted on social media alongside ministers Fernando Haddad, Simone Tebet, and Rui Costa.

Lula emphasized that the government will not interfere in the autonomy of the Central Bank, ensuring that it has full management autonomy since 2021.

Galípolo will assume office on January 1st for a 4-year term, overseeing the financial system and monetary policy of the country, succeeding Roberto Campos Neto.

Lula expressed confidence in Galípolo’s professionalism and commitment to governing the Central Bank with true autonomy, highlighting the importance of economic stability and combating inflation.
