Alceu Collares, former governor of Rio Grande do Sul and ex-mayor of Porto Alegre, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday (24) at the age of 97 in the capital city. He had been hospitalized since December 16 to treat pneumonia. The cause of death was multiple organ failure, as reported by the hospital.
