Irans Advancement in Domestic Vessel Production

Iran now capable of domestically manufacturing advanced vessels.

Commander of the IRGC Navy, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, announced Iran’s capability of domestically producing advanced vessels. This achievement is credited to the expertise of local specialists.

Tangsiri highlighted the shift from relying on the United States for maritime construction pre-1979 Islamic Revolution to building vessels from aluminum. He also mentioned the construction of 17 vessels by the IRGC Navy’s Shahid Mahalati Institute, ready to join the country’s naval fleet.

Speaking at a ceremony for signing contracts for marine equipment production at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Tangsiri emphasized Iran’s self-sufficiency in advanced vessel manufacturing. The country’s progress in this field signifies a significant milestone in its maritime capabilities.

The development of domestic vessel production showcases Iran’s technological advancements in the naval sector, empowering the nation to enhance its naval fleet with locally manufactured vessels. This achievement reflects Iran’s determination to strengthen its maritime defense capabilities through self-reliance and innovation.
