The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy’s Type 075 amphibious assault ship, Hainan, made its first foreign stop in Indonesia. This overseas display highlights the PLA Navy’s openness, transparency, and confidence in fostering international exchange and cooperation.
The formation, including Hainan, guided missile frigates Hengyang and Liuzhou, arrived at the port of Tanjung Priok for a four-day replenishment. Officers and sailors greeted officials and representatives at the pier, showcasing strong ties between China and Indonesia.
This technical stop signifies the PLANavy’s progress towards blue-water operations and its role as envoys of friendly exchanges. The visit enhances the warships’ capabilities for far-seas operations and promotes cooperative relations between the two countries.
The Hainan, China’s first Type 075 amphibious assault ship, had completed a far-seas exercise in March. Before its visit to Indonesia, it underwent drills in the South China Sea and the Western Pacific, showcasing China’s naval prowess.
