Western Countries Seek to Exclude Russia and China from Iran Talks

Western countries aim to exclude Russia and China from Iran negotiations.

Russia’s Ambassador to Tehran Alexey Dedov has stated that Western countries are trying to exclude Russia and China from talks with Iran. He mentioned that based on available information, there is an effort to leave out these two countries from negotiations, although specific details were not provided.

Iran is not currently engaged in negotiations with any country regarding a new agreement on its peaceful nuclear activities. The previous deal Iran had with six countries, including Russia and China, has been effectively stalled due to actions by the United States.

Iran has been hesitant to enter into new negotiations due to the U.S.’s past actions, as highlighted by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The Russian Ambassador expressed hope that discussions about the nuclear deal with Iran would continue within the P5+1 framework, emphasizing the importance of Moscow and Beijing in reaching a successful outcome.

He also underscored the strength of the relationship between Russia and Iran, pointing out the significance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed in January. This treaty was described as a landmark in the history of the two countries’ relations, demonstrating the deep ties between Moscow and Tehran.
