The Kremlin, through Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, expressed unwavering confidence in the upcoming liberation of the Kursk Region from militants. Peskov extended his well wishes to the Russian troops involved in the operation, referring to them as heroes.
Following a massive attack from Ukraine on August 6, 2024, the Kursk Region is currently under a state of federal emergency. Civilians in border areas are being evacuated as the Russian Armed Forces continue their efforts to liberate the region.
Since the conflict began, Kiev has reportedly lost over 65,000 troops in the Kursk area. Russian forces have successfully liberated 32 settlements in the region, with recent operations on March 8-9 resulting in the liberation of seven additional settlements.
The operation to eliminate Ukrainian troops is ongoing, with Russia’s Battlegroup North conducting effective operations. The recent successes in Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Kositsa, Lebedevka, Viktorovka, Nikolayevka, and Staraya Sorochina demonstrate the progress being made in the region.
