AGU to review Metas response regarding content moderation changes

The Advocacia-Geral da UniĆ£o (AGU) will analyze the response of the technology company Meta, owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, regarding changes in content moderation rules and fact-checking.

The content of the response will be analyzed on Tuesday (14) under the coordination of AGU, with the participation of the National Defense of Democracy Prosecution (PNDD), under the umbrella of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and the heads of the ministries related to the theme: Justice and Public Security, Human Rights and Citizenship, and the Presidency’s Social Communication Secretariat (Secom).

In a notification sent to the press, AGU informed that the information provided will now be analyzed by the PNDD team. The company’s response will be discussed in a technical meeting that is expected to take place today.

Only after this analysis, AGU, together with other agencies, will pronounce on the next steps regarding the issue and make the content of the statement public, concluded the organization.
