Allies of former President Jair Bolsonaro honored Bolsonaro supporter Cleriston Pereira da Cunha, known as “Clezão,” who died in prison after a sudden illness.
The ceremony comes amid a deteriorating image of Bolsonaro in the face of the justice system, following his indictment by the Federal Police.
The session honoring Cunha was presided over by federal deputy Bia Kicis, one of Bolsonaro’s main supporters in Congress.
Kicis’s speech reflects the ongoing attacks on Minister Alexandre de Moraes and the Supreme Court by Bolsonaro allies.
