Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that the future of the Astana process in Syria relies on the developments and decisions of Iran, Russia, and Turkiye.
Araghchi presented a report to the lawmakers on the diplomatic efforts, including the recent meeting in Doha, highlighting that the Astana peace process has excluded the Syrian government and involved only Iran, Turkiye, and Russia.
He noted that the participation of other Arab countries has not been part of the Astana process either, underlining the critical role of the three key countries in determining the process’s continuity.
The recent events in Syria, with armed groups seizing control of Damascus, have further underscored the significance of the decisions made by Iran, Russia, and Turkiye in shaping the future of the Astana process.
