In 2024, the government successfully met its fiscal target, ending the year with a primary deficit of R$43 billion, equivalent to a negative balance of 0.36% of the GDP. This result includes expenses related to the reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul after record floods and firefighting efforts in the Pantanal and the Amazon.
