Chinas Response to Antitrust Probe Reports

Chinese FM addresses reports of Apple antitrust probe.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded to media inquiries about reports of China exploring an antitrust probe into Apple’s policies. Lin stated he was not aware of the situation.

The State Administration for Market Regulation is reportedly examining Apple’s policies, such as taking a cut of up to 30% on in-app spending and restricting external payment services and stores.

In response to the related reports, Lin advised referring to competent Chinese authorities for specific questions. China is also investigating US tech giant Google for alleged violations of anti-monopoly laws.

The developments come amidst growing scrutiny of tech companies’ business practices in China and globally, raising concerns about fair competition and market regulation.
