Premier Li Qiang leads meeting to boost platform economy growth

Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council meeting to discuss and promote the healthy development of the platform economy. The meeting also focused on a draft law on hazardous chemicals safety and approved revisions to administrative regulations.

The platform economy was highlighted as crucial for expanding domestic demands, ensuring stable employment, improving livelihoods, and fostering new productive forces. Emphasis was placed on strengthening industrial internet platforms, supporting consumer internet companies, and facilitating cross-border data flow.

The meeting approved a draft law on hazardous chemical substances safety and stressed the need for a prevention mechanism to manage safety risks effectively. Enhancing safety management throughout the production process and upgrading outdated facilities were identified as key priorities.

In addition, the meeting decided to revise certain regulations related to medical equipment supervision and abolish outdated regulations to streamline governance processes.
