Cuba discusses economic planning for 2025 after a challenging year

President of Cuba highlights difficulties faced in 2024 and calls for a march against the US blockade

The Legislative Assembly of Cuba has begun its winter sessions to establish the budget and economic planning for 2025, focusing on addressing the crisis exacerbated by the US blockade.

The activities of the Assembly will also cover issues related to foreign investment incentives, labor code updates, food production, and anti-corruption efforts.

Cuba is facing internal difficulties in economic stabilization and socialist model updates, compounded by losses from natural disasters and a sustained US blockade.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel has called for a march on December 20th to protest against the hostility towards the island, following the parliamentary activities.
