The Chamber of Deputies may vote on a variety of proposals next week, covering topics such as gun registration, organ donation, and environmental policies. An agreement reached among party leaders on Thursday included a measure that criminalizes digital image manipulation by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Also on the agenda is a proposal that increases penalties for crimes such as forest fires and pollution, as well as prohibits public hiring for those who use fire irregularly on public or private lands. The inclusion of a proposal on the plenary’s voting list does not necessarily mean it will be debated that week, but rather that it is deemed ready for analysis by the majority of the House.
Other proposals that may be considered include regulations for gun registration, possession, and commercialization; procedures for police stations to assist indigenous women victims of violence; the creation of a National Policy for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Brazilian Marine Biome; and the allowance of using the Severance Pay Fund in cases of childbirth or adoption.
The list of texts that could be voted on also includes proposals such as the creation of a Special Education and Inclusive Education Policy for people with Mental Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities, and Multiple Disabilities; the suspension of water and electricity bill payments during emergency or public calamity situations; and the waiver of family consent for organ donation from potential donors who have expressly manifested their wishes during their lifetime.
