EU Aviation Sanctions Impacting Irans Medicine Imports

EU sanctions disrupt medicine imports to Iran due to aviation restrictions.

Fereshteh Mirzazadeh, the administration deputy for development and management resources affairs, mentioned that the recent European Union sanctions on the Iranian aviation industry have directly affected air transportation, causing difficulties in importing medicines and medical equipment.

Despite the challenges posed by the sanctions, the Food and Drug Administration is making every effort to meet the country’s medical needs by exploring solutions such as using special air corridors, enhancing cooperation with international companies, and supporting domestic production.

In response to the EU sanctions imposed on Iranian airlines like IranAir, MahanAir, and Saha Airlines, the Iranian government is taking measures to address the alleged transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.

The administration is striving to overcome the obstacles created by the sanctions by implementing strategies to ensure the continuous supply of medicines and medical equipment to the Iranian population.
