French left and far-right MPs ousted Prime Minister Michel Barnier on Wednesday, deepening the political crisis in the EU’s second-largest economy.
The move came after less than 100 days in power, with 331 votes in favor of the ousting out of a total of 557 seats.
The session marked the end of a mandate as MPs also called for President Emmanuel Macron’s resignation.
Barnier’s fall was seen as inevitable, leading to uncertainty about the country’s political future and Macron’s next steps.
