The Lebanese group Hezbollah has categorically denied a report from The Wall Street Journal that claimed Israel had infiltrated Hezbollah’s communication network to locate and kill Fuad Shukr, one of its founding commanders.
Hezbollah labeled the report as “completely false” and accused the newspaper of fabricating the story.
The denial follows Israel’s acknowledgment of Shukr’s assassination during a July attack in Beirut, which has further escalated tensions between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah’s leader, Hasan Nasrallah, vowed retaliation, warning that Israel had crossed “all red lines.”
