IAEA Chief Discusses Iran’s Rights Chief

IAEA head Grossi prepares for Tehran visit with Iran’s rights chief.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi had a productive discussion with Iran’s rights chief Kazem Gharibabadi before his trip to Tehran. Grossi expressed his preparedness to engage with Iran’s administration to resolve safeguard issues.

Iran has increased nuclear activities since 2019, following the US withdrawal from the JCPOA. Despite setbacks, Iran remains committed to cooperating with the IAEA to address nuclear program concerns.

Grossi praised Iran’s civil nuclear advancements during a visit to an exhibition in Vienna. He emphasized the importance of upcoming political and technical meetings in Tehran to further dialogue and cooperation.

Iran’s willingness to engage with the IAEA to resolve disputes surrounding its nuclear program is evident, rejecting claims of non-cooperation by Western officials.
