Iran to launch two satellites into space

Iran prepares to send Kowsar and Hodhod satellites into orbit.

Iran is set to launch two domestically made satellites, Kowsar and Hodhod, into space using a Russian Soyuz rocket at the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

The Kowsar Satellite, weighing 30kg, was designed in 2019 by the Iranian company Omidfaza and has a color imaging range of 15km and an imaging rate of 6 frames per second.

Hodhod, weighing 4kg, will orbit at a height of 500km and has an estimated lifespan of four years, providing services in agriculture, land surveying, transport, and the environment, including Internet of Things (IoT) coverage in remote areas.

This upcoming satellite launch by Iran’s private sector marks a significant step in the country’s space program, showcasing advancements in technology and international collaboration.
