Irans Commitment to Cooperation with IAEA

Tehran reaffirms commitment to work with IAEA.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He highlighted the importance of upholding national security while fulfilling safeguards obligations.

Gharibabadi discussed the ongoing cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, emphasizing the need to resolve outstanding issues and ensure the security of nuclear facilities. He also addressed the importance of lifting sanctions and maintaining a professional approach in resolving disputes.

The dispute between Iran and the IAEA, triggered by claims of uranium traces at undeclared nuclear sites, remains unresolved. Iran has rejected the accusations and expressed readiness to cooperate with the IAEA to address the issues.

Recent meetings between Iranian officials and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi underscore the importance of tangible engagement and constructive relations. Both sides aim to provide credible guarantees of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program through continued cooperation.
