FM Araghchi meets SCO secretary general in Beijing

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev in Beijing to discuss the organization’s growing role in enhancing multilateralism and cooperation among member countries.

Araghchi highlighted the importance of the SCO for advancing security and political interests, noting the significant and influential member countries within the organization.

Yermekbayev expressed pleasure over Iran’s full membership in the SCO and welcomed Iran’s initiatives to expand economic, banking, and commercial activities within the grouping.

The SCO consists of 10 main members, with Iran, China, India, Russia, Pakistan, and others playing important roles in strengthening multilateralism and cooperation in various fields.
