The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to enhancing partnerships with African countries. In a recent meeting, Iranian officials emphasized the importance of strengthening ties and expanding cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest.
Under President Masoud Pezeshkian’s leadership, Iran’s administration is dedicated to deepening relations with African nations. The focus is on fostering collaboration through bilateral, multilateral, and regional frameworks to contribute to mutual development and serve their respective populations.
Congratulations were extended to the African Union on the successful conclusion of its 38th Summit, where key leadership roles were assumed by Angola, Djibouti, and Algeria. Iran, as an observer to the AU, wishes continued success to the new leadership and expresses support for the summit’s theme of ‘Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations’.
The summit discussions revolved around critical issues such as conflict resolution, economic integration, and sustainable development in regions like the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan. Emphasis was placed on regional cooperation initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area, highlighting the need for self-sufficiency in energy and infrastructure development with a focus on climate resilience.
