Irans Mission in Vienna on Fulfilling Obligations Despite Sanctions

Iran emphasizes it wont fully fulfill JCPOA obligations under sanctions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s mission in Vienna responded to the IAEA’s report, stating that despite unfair and illegal sanctions, Iran cannot be expected to fully comply with its JCPOA obligations.

Iran has diligently adhered to its commitments, including the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, ensuring the effective verification of nuclear activities within its borders.

The separation of topics in the reports has not been observed properly, with JCPOA and NPT safeguard issues overlapping, reflecting the impact of the US withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018.

Iran’s decision to suspend obligations under the JCPOA was a response to the US withdrawal and the failure of European countries to fulfill their commitments, highlighting the need for all parties to uphold their obligations.
