Israeli forces killed at least ten Palestinians in a major ground and air attack in northern occupied West Bank, according to health authorities. The Red Crescent reported two Palestinians killed in Jenin, four in a car bombing in a nearby municipality, and four in a refugee camp near Tubas. There were also 15 injuries.
The incursion, involving hundreds of ground troops supported by combat planes, drones, and bulldozers, began in the early hours of Wednesday. The Israeli army carried out coordinated attacks in the cities of Jenin, Nablus, Tubas, and Tulkarem, describing it as an anti-terrorism operation with airstrikes and attacks on armored convoys.
The Israeli army claimed to have eliminated nine armed terrorists in the West Bank attacks, as a new operation was carried out simultaneously with the war in Gaza. The offensive in Gaza has already left over 40,000 dead, massive destruction, and the displacement of nearly all of its 2.4 million inhabitants.
More than 650 Palestinians have died in the West Bank at the hands of the Israeli army or settlers since October 7, while at least 20 Israelis have died in the territory, including soldiers attacked by Palestinians or participants in military raids. The Islamic Jihad denounced an open war by the Israeli occupier, accusing them of aiming to annex the West Bank.
