Nicolás Maduro’s third term inauguration is scheduled for this Friday (10th). The ceremony is expected to follow similar protocols as previous inaugurations, with a swearing-in at the National Assembly.
The standard procedure includes the president-elect arriving on a red carpet, greeting dignitaries, and taking the oath of office. The President of the National Assembly will then deliver an opening speech before the official swearing-in.
Maduro will receive the presidential sash and key to the archives, where the records of the 1811 Congress are kept. Following the ceremony, he is expected to address supporters outside the Miraflores Palace, the seat of the Venezuelan Executive.
This year, due to security concerns, there will be no car parade. Several countries will be represented by their diplomatic ambassadors at the inauguration, while others have opted not to send representatives.
