Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Aziz Nasirzadeh, commended the country’s progress in satellite carriers on National Space Technology Day in Tehran. He highlighted the successful missions of the Simorgh and Qaem-100 satellite carriers, emphasizing their capabilities in transferring satellites to high-altitude orbits.
Nasirzadeh mentioned that Iranian experts are currently developing the Sarir satellite launch vehicle, which will have the capacity to launch super heavy cargo into orbits, potentially enabling the establishment of a satellite constellation. He also announced the upcoming launch of two additional space projects before the end of the Iranian year.
In a related development, Iran’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Sattar Hashemi, disclosed plans to unveil upgraded models of Pars-1 and Pars-2 remote sensing satellites, as well as the Navak communications satellite. Hassan Salariyeh, the head of the Iranian Space Agency, highlighted significant achievements such as the Chamran-1, Pars-1, Kowsar, and Hodhod satellites over the past year.
The Kowsar satellite is specialized in high-resolution remote sensing, while the Hodhod satellite is designed for communication purposes, particularly to support the Internet of Things (IoT). These advancements showcase Iran’s progress in space technology and its commitment to expanding its capabilities in satellite technology.
