The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command conducted combat readiness patrols with naval and air forces in the territorial waters and airspace around China’s Huangyan Dao and its adjacent areas. Since the beginning of January, the theater command has consistently enhanced patrols and vigilance in the surrounding waters and airspace of Huangyan Dao, firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and security.
The PLA Southern Theater Command’s announcement was followed by the China Coast Guard (CCG) also conducting patrols around Huangyan Dao. The CCG has continuously strengthened its law enforcement patrols in the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao and its adjacent regions, resolutely safeguarding national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
These joint patrols by both the PLA and CCG aim to further strengthen control over the relevant maritime and aerial regions, maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea region. The efforts of both military and coast guard forces demonstrate a commitment to upholding national sovereignty and security amidst regional tensions.
By enhancing patrols and vigilance, the PLA and CCG are sending a clear message of deterrence to any potential threats in the region. The coordinated actions of the military and coast guard reflect a unified approach towards safeguarding China’s interests in the South China Sea and ensuring peace and stability in the region.
