Russian President Vladimir Putin described Kyiv’s recent attack on the Kursk region as a large-scale provocation.

In a government meeting, Putin stated that the Kyiv regime is indiscriminately firing various weapons, including missiles, at civilian facilities, homes, and ambulances.

On August 6, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) reported Ukrainian bombardments on border towns in the Kursk region, noting that no incursions into Russian territory were allowed.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian troops lost up to 260 soldiers and 50 armored vehicles during the attack.

The assault targeted residential and administrative buildings as well as civilian infrastructure. Local authorities reported at least five civilian deaths and 28 injuries, forcing thousands to flee the area.
