Russia refuses to participate in peace summits with Kiev

Russia sees no point in attending Ukraines peace summits

Russia’s Federation Council Speaker, Valentina Matviyenko, stated that Russia does not see any value in participating in peace summits organized by Ukraine.

Matviyenko criticized the ineffectiveness of previous summits and expressed skepticism towards future ones, emphasizing that they do not contribute to peace or resolution of the conflict.

Ukraine’s President, Zelensky, had planned a summit in November, but Russia remains uninterested and has rejected previous peace initiatives from third countries.

Russian President Putin has outlined conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine, including the withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces from certain regions and Kiev’s non-alignment with NATO.
