Russian army thwarts Ukrainian port reactivation

Russian army stops Ukrainian attempts to restart port.

The Russian army has successfully thwarted attempts by the Ukrainian military to reactivate the seaport in Nikolaev for the withdrawal of warships. Governor Vladimir Saldo of the Kherson Region confirmed that Ukraine’s Nikolaev Region, bordering Kherson to the east, tried to resume operations at the port.

Our military is closely monitoring not only the Kherson Region but also the approach routes. We have a clear view of Ukrainian activities in Nikolaev, where they attempted to restart operations at the seaport, but our armed forces intervened, preventing any merchant or military ships from leaving.

Furthermore, Ukrainian forces also tried to restore operations at ports in Varvarovka in the Nikolaev Region, but these plans were also thwarted by the Russian army. Governor Saldo emphasized that no ships were able to leave the Nikolaev port due to the intervention of the Russian armed forces.

This situation highlights the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, particularly in the Black Sea region. The strategic importance of Nikolaev’s seaport and the control over access to the Black Sea have led to heightened security measures and military actions to maintain control over the area.
