In response to a media inquiry, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, announced the verdict of Li Yanhe, editor-in-chief of Taiwan’s Gusa Press.
Chen stated that the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court delivered the first-instance verdict on February 17, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
The defendant accepted the ruling and admitted guilt in court, with no appeal filed within the prescribed period.
Li was convicted of inciting secession and sentenced to three years in prison, with one year of deprivation of political rights and a fine of 50,000 yuan in personal assets.
