An Iranian Judiciary spokesman revealed that a Swiss national, who tragically took his own life in an Iranian jail, had been capturing images of military locations.
The individual, identified as a Swiss citizen born in Namibia, entered Iran as a tourist through the Dogharoun border crossing in October.
Upon his arrest in a military-restricted zone for photographing prohibited areas and alleged collaboration with a hostile state, he was transferred to prison.
Despite efforts to respond to the suicide, the detainee passed away after hanging himself in his cell, according to the spokesman.
