In a televised address, Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akbari, discussed the recent developments in Syria. He mentioned that following the fall of Homs, the Syrian government decided to hand over power peacefully in the capital.
Akbari highlighted the differences between armed groups in Syria, emphasizing that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is distinct from Daesh terrorists due to their past conflicts and ideological disparities.
He also expressed concerns about the alignment of forces in the region, warning of potential conflicts among Islamic and Arab countries. The ambassador noted that the Zionist regime sees the crisis in Syria as an opportunity to eliminate its enemies.
Akbari praised Syria’s decision to prioritize the well-being of its people and prevent further bloodshed, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sovereignty of nations and standing against oppression.
