Syrian rebels, who have taken control of Syria, named a transitional government chief on Tuesday (10) and announced they will publish a list of torturers from the former regime.
In an official statement transmitted by Syrian television, they stated that Mohamadal Bashir will assume the role of government chief until March 1st.
The rebels also declared they will publish a list of authorities involved in torturing the people, as announced by their leader Ahmad al Shareh on Tuesday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimated that over 100,000 people have died, many under torture, in Assad’s prisons since the start of the civil war in 2011.
