Taiwan Civilian groups protest IPAC meeting

Taiwanese groups protested the IPAC meeting, advocating non-interference and peace across the Strait.

Multiple civilian groups in Taiwan protested against the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) annual meeting in Taipei, emphasizing non-interference in China’s internal affairs and advocating for peaceful development and dialogue across the Taiwan Strait.

The groups criticized IPAC for promoting Western geopolitical interests under the guise of a “rule-based international order.” They accused Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and external forces of undermining peace and stability, urging collaboration with mainland China to oppose separatism.

The protest highlighted concerns over increased military spending and negative impacts on livelihoods in Taiwan.
