The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and the military leader of the Hamas, Mohamed Deif.
The decision of the International Criminal Court is comparable to a historic case, reacted Netanyahu referring to the case of Alfred Dreyfus in the late 19th century in France.
The Hamas welcomed the tribunal’s measure as a step towards justice, while Israel’s Foreign Minister criticized the ICC for losing legitimacy and issuing absurd orders.
The European Union’s top diplomat emphasized that the ICC’s decision should be respected as a judicial decision, not a political one.
