US President Donald Trump expressed his irritation with statements from both sides of the Ukrainian conflict, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. He is working hard to achieve a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump stated that he would impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil if Moscow fails to strike a peace deal on Ukraine. He also expressed his anger over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s comments on Ukrainian officials.
In response to Putin’s remarks about potential external governance in Ukraine, Trump warned of ‘big problems’ if Zelensky backs out of a deal on rare earths. Putin suggested discussing a transitional UN administration in Ukraine with US, European countries, and Russia’s allies.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed reports of Trump’s anger, stating that they were based on paraphrased remarks lacking direct quotes to support them.
