The Ukrainian Air Force declared on Thursday (21) that Russia conducted an attack against Ukraine using an intercontinental ballistic missile. If confirmed, it would be the first attack with this type of weapon since the beginning of the war.
A ballistic intercontinental missile has the main characteristic of being able to reach a target at long distances, with a minimum range of 5,500 kilometers. These weapons are generally equipped with nuclear warheads and designed to destroy strategic targets located at long distances.
According to the statement, the Ukrainian city of Dnipro was attacked by several types of missiles, including a Kinzhal ballistic missile, as well as six Kh-101 cruise missiles. The launch of the intercontinental missile is said to have been carried out from the Russian region of Astrakhan.
The Ukrainian military did not provide any further details. The Russian Ministry of Defense also did not comment on the information regarding the missile attack in the city of Dnipro.
